(JCrew) how I love you...

I am loving the September JCrew catalogue. Yes, I know it is now October. I have gotten some great ideas from it. I am so not fashion savvy, but I'm trying. I like how jcrew puts things together, but for my budget, not so much. Here are some outfits I like. I love this argyle sweater paired with the pearls and dark jeans. This sweater is 158.00. It is cashmere, but I did find a great alternative here for less than 20.00. I got it in the vermont orange and pale ale colors. I've recently gotten some great jeans, now all I need is to find a long pearl necklace to finish the look!

I wish I were about 10 years younger so I could pull this look off. This is just so cute! This purse is 298.00, but this one at Old Navy for less than 15.00 might work. I like it in the gray color actually.

This whole look is just darling! I found a ribbed tank practically just like this in this color at JCP on clearance for less than 5.00 last week. I got it in brown and a great teal blue, too. It's perfect for layering under a jean jacket. For wonderful fashion tips, go here and here!

Oh, how you crack me up (in a good way) my friend!

By the way, you can TOTALLY pull the jean shorts-knee socks-fitted jacket look. Actually, I just wore a very similar outfit last night when we went to the mall to....get Chik-Fil-A! Although, I probably should have word a longer pair of shorts. They were corduroy and J.Crew. Got them last year for $10 on clearance!

I love that you're willing to pair strands of pearls with something more casual and not just cutsy little flowery dress or cardigan. You make me proud! Seriously, you and I can make a difference in this world by spreading the word around :-)

Yes, both my husband and I would pretty much only shop there if we could afford it. Thank goodness for alternatives such as Old Navy, H&M and even Forever 21.

Oh, and I still haven't seen 'The Women' but I'll get to it one of these days. I can't wait to see "The Secret Life of Bees". I read the book and think it's one of the very BEST books ever written.

I like your blog! I really enjoy your idea on shopping, especially in this economy when everyone is trying to pinch pennies. I can honestly say I've spent $150 on a sweater & I've also spent $15 on a sweater. Know what the difference is? I ended up wearing the $15 one much more, bcs who wears a $150sweater to the grocery store, or to Starbucks? I guess some people do, but I never did. That's why these days I stick to the sale rack at Banana Republic.

Keep up the great blogging!

I love JCrew - but I wait for the sales before I buy. We have a JCrew outlet here (Vero Beach, FL) that is great for bargain hunting. You are right, though, Old Navy's things are so similar, it is hard to justify paying more at JCrew.

Great post! Nancy
